Saucy Etching by Max Brunning
Wonderful 1930's drypoint etching with a sepia tint, signed in pencil by the artist Max Brunning. Saucy semi nude. Framed in an original guilt wood frame that measures approx 25.5 inches by 19 (65cm x 48). Brunning was a German artist (1887-1968) and produced many saucy art deco pictures. Although Bruning did not number his engravings and etchings in specific editions, they were published in quite small numbers. Also, many impressions were destroyed as degenerate art when the Nazis took power. Allied bombing attacks upon Berlin destroyed most of the remaining original copper plates of Bruning's engravings. Thus his remarkable art is today quite scarce and is highly sought after by collectors world wide.Condition is good with a few minor age related marks to the frame.
