French spelter dog bookends probably modelled by Moreau as Ric and Rac a 1920's French cartoon by Pol Rob. Each are mounted on a black and white marble base measuring 6.25 inches long. The dogs have a gold cold enamel finish and phenolic eyes. Condition is good with no damage but with some expected wear to the patina in places. 5 inches high.

Nut Bird Bookends
Whacky wooden bookends with nut birds perched on them. The birds have phenolic beaks and eyes. Each measures approx. 5 inches high (13cm). Condition is vintage but good.

Bookends by Gregoire
Salt glaze ceramic bookends of bears or some mythical beast. Cubist in form. Unsigned but I have had the bronze version of these animals and they were signed Gregoire. Some slight damage to one with a crack across one of the paws and possibly some old glue around the foot. Some firing cracks to the base from new. 7.5 inches (19cm) high.

French green patinated bronze art deco flying fish bookends with phenolic eyes. They each measure 5.25 inches long by 3.5 inches deep by 5 inches high (13cm x 9cm x 12.5cm). Condition is vintage but good.

Satyr Bookends by Sylvestre
French patinated bronze large satyr (half human half goat) children bookends. Modelled as a boy with fury trousers and goats feet and horns and a girl with the same. These are larger than your average bookends. Made by the Suisse Frer editeur Paris foundry, signed and stamped with their foundry mark. Also signed to the base Sylvestre. Each bookend is extremely heavy and measures 9 inches long by 4 inches deep (23cm x 10cm). The total height of the uprights is 7 inches (18cm). Condition is extremely good.

Green patinated spelter bookends, signed to the socle Artus. Mounted on black marble bases and measuring 13.5 cm high. Very good condition with just a chip to one corner of one of the marble bases. Artus was an early pseudonym used by Max Le Verrier.

Ric and Rac Bronze Bookends
French art deco gilt and patinated bronze cubist dog bookends, modelled as Ric and Rac. Ric and Rac were naughty cartoon dogs who were designed by Pol Rab in the 1920s. They each measure 6 inches long by 3 inches deep by 6 inches total height (15cm x 7.5cm x 15cm). They have phenolic eyes and the bases are made of onyx and marble. Condition is good with no damage.

Pelican Book Ends by Moreau
French Art Deco green patinated Art Deco pelican bookends. Signed Franjou - a pseudonym used by Moreau. Mounted on black marble bases the measure 5 inches long by 3.5 inches deep and the pelican stands 6.5 inches total height (12.5cm x 9cm x 16.5cm). The pelicans have glass eyes. In extremely good condition.
