Marcel Bouraine - French, 1886 to 1948, Born in Pontoise. In the main he was self-taught. All his works are of sincere realism and drawn from life. Taken prisoner by the Germans during the 1914 - 1918 war, he so interested his captors that they gave him many works to execute. He was interned in Switzerland where he produced many monuments, of which one was for Lousanne. He exhibited at all the main Paris Salons during the 1920's and 1930's.
