Brevet Horoplafon
An original 1930 chromed metal and bakelite watch magnifier with internal light which by means of an internal mirror is supposed to project an image of an internal watch upon a ceiling as a virtual clock. Marked underneath Horoplafon, Brevet/Bon/Paris. One recently sold in a Paris auction for 1200 euros. There is with this item an old watch (half hunter?) which doesn't appear to be working but may have been with it originally. The back of this watch opens and there is a decorated metal plate and to the front a very unusual red and black dial with roman numerals and a 24 hour numeral display with red and green floral detail on the white ceramic or metal face. There is a separate dial for the second hand although the second hand has dropped off but is still in the case. This item is extremely unusual and probably quite rare and the accompanying watch is a mystery in itself. I have lots more pictures of the Horoplafon and the watch, so please don't hesitate to ask for more pics. It measures 5 inches wide (13cm) and 7 inches tall to the top of the magnifying glass. Good condition for its age with no apparent damage but just the usual signs of age.
