Futuristic Dancer by Gerdago
Austrian art deco futuristic dancer, a chryselephantine statue by Gerdago. Made in Austria by the Arthur Rubinstein foundry and bearing the seal. Gerdago was a pseudonym used by the artist Gerda Gottstein who was Austrian by birth (1906 - 2004). She is famous also as a theatrical costume designer. It is not known for sure if she actually created the bronze statues signed in her name or if they were the work of Karl Perl and Theodore Ullman who both worked at the Arthur Rubinstein foundry. These statues are highly sought after worldwide. A similar one missing her necklace can be seen in the Alberto Shayo Statuettes book on page 97. My one is in much better condition. She measures 12 inches high by 12.5 inches wide (30cm x 32cm). This item will be arriving soon.

Garcon by Lindsey B
This is the now extremely rare art deco Garcon. He is the table top Garcon and was made in 3 sizes in the early 1980s. As these are ceramic not many have survived. This is the smallest one next is the waist high one (of which I have 2 for sale) and then the largest was over 6 foot tall (I also have one of these but he is not for sale). This one has come from some old stock that came out of her workshop when she finished the business in the mid 1980s. Note that this one has the stepped curved base which makes it a very early one and possibly a prototype. It is satin finish black and there are a couple of runs in the paint there from new, maybe this one was never sold for this reason. The tray is chromed metal. As such the condition is as new. He measures 16.5 inches high (42cm). You are unlikely to ever find another one in such good condition.

Condition is very good for its age with just some minor age related wear.
