Lovely Child Terracotta by 'Cipriani'

The Famous 'Bacchante' by Guiraude Riviere
This lovely French terracotta bust is almost lifesize, measuring a large 22 inches high. The lovely lady wears a garland of grapes around her head, as one would expect as she is a goddess of wine. This piece is signed to the rear in the clay. The condition is amazingly good considering the medium but there are a few minor chips - the biggest is on the left hand front bottom edge of the base which you can probably see in the picture. Guiraude Riviere - Born in Toulouse, France, member of the Salon where he exhibited during the 1930's. The bronze version of this bust can be viewed in the Catley book of Art Deco figures and others on page 169 and was originally exhibited at the Salon des Humoristes in 1923. Email me for more pics if required. As a bronze this piece would be worth thousands of pounds, as it is a terracotta I am asking a very reasonable and affordable £995.

'Idyll' by Demetre Chiparus
A very unusual subject of Romeo and Juliette type figures made of terracotta by D. H. Chiparus. This group is signed in the clay, and is 18 inches long and 14 inches high. You can see the bronze version of this figure in the Chiparus book by Alberto Shayo on page 64 and it is called 'Idyll'. Pieces by this highly regarded Romanian artist are getting extremely difficult to find and the prices are shooting up. This is a very rare and affordable piece and should be snapped up immediately, buy yourself a bit of history while you still can.

'Youth' by Demetre Chiparus
A lovely terracotta bust of a young girl by the Romanian artist D. H. Chiparus, which is signed on the back. She measures 13 inches high, has stylised hair and is very pretty. Her patina is green and the condition is excellent. This is another of my rare and affordable Chiparus items.

Signed Terracotta Family Group
A family group - a very unusual subject for the period - the signature being a little indistinct, but probably L. Piru. This piece is bronzed patinated terracotta and it is mounted on a white striated black marble base measuring 18 inches long, 8.5 inches deep and 11 inches high. Condition is exceptionally good.

Terracotta Hunting Scene
A large, signed indistinctly - (Bouchell?), model of an Lady hunting a deer in buff patinated terracotta. She measures approx. 27 inches long, 16 inches high and 6 inches deep, on a white striated black marble base. Condition is excellent with only a tiny chip to the top of the lady's hair and a chip to the underside of the horses rear hoof. Excellent quality.

Dreaming by Demetre Chiparus
This pretty nude is the terracotta version of Dreaming by Chiparus. She is a genuine 1930's piece and is signed in the clay. She measures 18.5 inches long by 15 inches high and 7 inches deep, and bears the Editions Reveyrolis, Paris stamp. Condition is very good with no damage or repairs.

Terracotta Group by Deblaize
A very deco stylised terracotta Lady with wedge hair and a goat boy (satire) with wavy hair detail on his legs and geometric square hooves. It is signed by the artist G.Deblaize and measures 20 inches wide and nearly 12 inches high. Condition is good with no damage or repairs, just a few minor chips or scuffs - a lovely piece.
