Mounted on a stepped, signed onyx base.

This larger one measures a huge 28.5 inches (70cm ) wide, 21.5 inches (54cm) high.

The smaller version measures 21.5 inches (54cm) wide, 15 inches (38cm) high, 7.5 inches (18cm) deep.

Very good condition.

Chiparus was a renowned 20th century sculptural artists who took his inspiration mainly from theatrical performances during the inter-war years. He celebrated the liberation of the new woman and many of his figures are modelled as dancers from the Follies Bergere, and the ballet ruse. His statues epitomise the Art Deco era and this beach dancer is a perfect example from the Roaring Twenties. Chiparus is considered to be the Master of Art Deco statues and his items command high prices.

I have never seen another of this size. In fact I had believed there were only 3 sizes made. It seems I was wrong and there were 4 sizes and this is the biggest.

Diana the huntress is the mythological huntress, cast c1925 by Susse Freres, wearing a tunic with Greek key detailing, holding a bow and standing on one foot as if having just shot an arrow into the sky, the bow unscrewing in two places, the shaped 'rocky' base is signed 'Le Faguays Sclp' and 'Susse Frs Ed Paris', and bears a Susse Freres foundry mark.

Pierre Le Faguays (French 1892-1962) was best friend of Max Le Verrier.

45 inches (114.5cm) high to the top of her bow, 26.5 inches (67.5cm) wide, and the base is 14 inches (34cm) wide, 10 inches (25cm) deep. 

This monumental statue is very heavy!

Condition is extremely good with a dark green patination.

No apparent damage or repairs. With a few minor age related surface scuffs and scratches as one would expect.

This Diana bronze was made in 4 sizes and this is the smaller one. The largest one was 45 inches (114cm) high.

13 inches (33cm) high.

In very good original condition but the bow may be a replacement.

Signed to the back of the bronze rocks base Le Faguays.

Signed to the bronze base socle Bouraine and bearing the Etling foundry stamp.

A similar one can be seen in the Catley book on page 50.

The lady has a silver patina and the deer have a green patina.

This statue rarely comes up for sale now - as people keep them in the collections.

It measures 24.5 inches (60cm) high to her top hand, 28.5 inches (73cm) high to the tip of her bow, 15.5 inches (40cm) wide & 5 inches (12.5cm) deep.

Condition is vintage but very original and good.

A rare 1920s piece, with a  top quality casting by the Master of Art Deco statues, signed to the bronze. 

She sits mounted on a stepped onyx base.

I believe made in 2 sizes the larger one is 70cm long - see final picture below of this one next to the larger version (which I have for sale at time of writing. See B800).
