American Tariffs & The Cost To Americans

A recent change to a provision which allowed items with a value of under $800 to enter the United States without paying import fees has been removed and we have been forced to increase our shipping costs for anything which can be added to the shopping cart to account for the change. The new flat rate is £25. This cost covers the initial fee which we are charged for sending the item as well as customs fees which we are forced to pay when ordering the shipping.

Should any item you add to your basket cost us more than £25 to send when accounting for the customs fees we will cancel the order and email you to tell you how much the additional cost is. If you still wish to proceed, we will re-list the item for you to add to your cart plus the additional cost so we are not out of pocket.

We obviously don’t want to lose any business to the USA so we won’t stop sending to America but we are also a small business and we cannot afford to pay customs fees for items we are sending, just as we wouldn’t expect Americans to pay customs fees on anything we purchase from America. Unfortunately this means that the cost must be passed on to our American customers.

If you are wishing to purchase an item to be delivered to America that is too large to be added to the cart, we will discuss the sending options with you by email and we can check exact prices with our post office before giving a final cost to you.
