Art Deco Buffet

1930s French art deco buffet, possibly by Jules Leleu but unsigned.

Purchased from Christies, South Kensington in the 1980s.

 

There are 2 matching cabinets. A large sideboard (FN1529) and this buffet.

They are being sold desperately but make a nice pair.

Priced per cabinet

They are made of coromandel veneer with a marble top and sycamore panels.

Consists of 2 drawers, a single large door central cupboard and end display shelves.

Tapering foot detail in Leleu style.

The central sycamore panel is carved with stylised fruit detail.

The drawers have ringed wooden handles and the original ivory replacements are supplied.

39.5 inches (100cm) high, 57.5 inches (146.5cm) wide, 18.5 inches (47cm) deep.

Good vintage condition.
