Art Deco Plaque after Martel

French art deco gold leaf gesso panel. After the panel design by Joel et Jan Martel.

Two panels were created by them for the 1925 Paris Art Deco Exhibition.

These can be viewed in the book from the exhibition – Mallet-Stevens 1925, plate 26.

They are titled Bas Reliefs du Pavillon du Tourisme.

The ship/plane version can be viewed in the ‘Les Craqueles Art Deco’ book, page 67 in an advert for the Martel Brothers.

Framed in high gloss black wood frame.

22.5 inches (57cm) long and 11 inches (28cm) high.

Condition is excellent.
