Art Deco Plaque after Martel

French art deco gold and silver leaf gesso panel. After the panel design by Joel et Jan Martel.

These two panels were created by them for the 1925 Paris Art Deco Exhibition.

The originals can be viewed in the book from the exhibition – Mallet-Stevens 1925 on plate 26.

They are titled Bas Reliefs du Pavillon du Tourisme.

The ship/plane plaque of this series can be viewed in the ‘Les Craqueles Art Deco’ book, page 67 in an advert for the Martel Brothers.

Framed in high gloss black wood frames.

22.5 inches (57cm) long and 11 inches (28cm) high.

Condition is excellent.
