1930s French art deco buffet, possibly by Jules Leleu but unsigned.
Purchased from Christies, South Kensington in the 1980s.
There are 2 available independently but they make a nice pair. This sale is for the sideboard. The matching buffet is FN1528
They are made of coromandel veneer with a marble top and sycamore panels.
Tapering foot detail in Leleu style.
The central sycamore panel is carved with stylised fruit detail.
The drawers have ringed wooden handles and the original ivory ones are supplied.
Consists of 2 central drawers with a cupboard beneath, a cupboard either end and a display overmantel with mirror glass back and glass shelf and 3 glass doors.
71 inches (180cm) high, 57.5 inches (146.5cm) wide, 18.5 inches (47cm) deep.
Good vintage condition.
