Huge German bronze lady lamp on a wooden pedestal with a marble top. Art Nouveau in style but probably made in around 1906 in the year the artist died. Astrope was the goddess of thunder and lightning in Greek mythology. Signed to the base Fritze Christ (1866 – 1906). Signed to the born base socle Fritz Christ. Christ was ahead of his time and the statue is more Nouveau in style than Victorian.
She measures a huge approx 45 inches (114cm) high from her toes to the top of the shade and a further 17 inches (43cm) with the base. Making a total of 62 inches (157cm) high.
In very good vintage condition.
