French hand carved scotty dog picture frame.

I understand these were hand carved using old wood, by a Frenchman desperate to augment his income to feed his family during the war years.

The base is roughly cut from old architrave.

A very rustic piece.

12 inches (30.5cm) wide, 8 inches (20cm) high to top of glass.
