Large rare French Art Deco cream ceramic crackle glaze bookends. One each of a panther chasing a deer over sunray zig zag base.
Made by St Clement and designed by Lemanceau.
Stamped St Clement under the base and impressed signature of Lemanceau to the edge of the base.
These were also produced as 2 of the same deer without the panther and also as a pair of panther bookends of the same design.
They each measure a large 9.5 inches (24cm) long, 8.5 inches (21.5cm) high, 3 inches (7.5cm) deep.
I also have a set of the deer ones (CH2219)
Condition is good with the usual craquelier cracks and a few age related marks as one would expect.
These bookends are highly desirable and dont come up for sale very often.
