Cleopatra – Demetre Chiparus

French gilt bronze art deco model of Cleopatra,  circa 1928.

This one is mounted on a portorro and flared rosso marble base.

Signed D H Chiparus to the bronze.

The plaque translates to “By D. H. Chiparus, winner of the fine arts fair”.

Similar but without the nice base can be viewed in Alberto Shayo book (1) on Chiparus, page 108.

19 inches (48.5cm) long, 7 inches (17.5cm) deep and 11.25 inches (28.25cm) high.

Very good original condition.
