Hand painted oil on canvass of a lady sitting on a beach.
Painted in 1935 and signed bottom left hand corner – Aimé Stevens (Belgian, 1879-1951).
Its title is – Dame en Robe du Soir (Lady in evening dress).
Stevens studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels where he was a pupil of the master painters Joseph Stallaert and Joseph Quinaux. He later became a professor at the same academy.
Framed in its original old wooden frame it measures, 19 inches (48.5 cm) frame height, 15.25 inches (38.5cm) frame width.
Very good condition, the oil paint has some craquelure to the surface commensurate with age, and no losses.
