French art deco bronze of the famous French aviator and founder of Air France – Jean Mermoz. Signed to the bronze F. Focht and bearing the foundry stamp – Bronze Chardon to the reverse. Frederic Focht 1879 – 1937 – his work is now highly sought after and commands high prices. This bust is mounted on a stepped Belgian black marble base.
Condition is very good with just a couple of small chips to the marble base.
14 inches (36cm) high and the base measures 12 inches (35.5cm) wide and 5 inches (12.5cm) deep.
