Large French quality bronze figural group of a lady and borzois. It has a lovely aged golden bronze patina and is signed in the bronze – Georges Coste. It is also marked at the back ‘cire perdue’, which pertains to the lost wax method of production.
The condition is excellent and very original with no damage or repairs.
Georges Coste was an early 20th century sculptor and was a student of Boucher and exhibited figures and busts at Le Salon des Artistes, and was a winner of a third class medal in 1925.
The base measures 26 inches (66cm) long and 8 inches (20cm) deep. 13.5 inches 34cm) high.
