French art deco silver leaf gesso panel. After the panel design by Joel et Jan Martel.
Two panels were created by them for the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes.
These can be viewed in the book from the exhibition – Mallet-Stevens 1925 on plate 26.
They are titled bas reliefs du Pavillon du tourisme.
The original of this plaque can be viewed in the ‘Les Craqueles Art Deco’ book, page 67 in an advert for the Martel Brothers.
Framed in gloss black it measures 23 inches (58cm) long and 11 inches high (28cm).
Condition is very good.
