This is the largest version of this group and it is signed De Marco. The female Diane was designed by Marcel Bouraine and sold to the Le Verrier foundry in 1930 and the leaping deer design was by Max Le Verrier. The name De Marco was a name used by Max Le Verrier on statues that were a marriage of artists. Green/blue patinated spelter figures mounted in a wedge shaped base which is of carved stone. Le Verrier also produced this group in a smaller version and the lady and deer individually as separate pieces in the larger size, also producing a similar deer in smaller size as bookends.
Very good condition with minor age wear to the patina.
