An original Art Deco Folies Bergere photograph of a theatrical performance in 1931. I have been lucky enough to have found a collection of old original French art deco theatrical photos dating to the 1920s – 1930s. This is an official original photo by Walery and it is certified with a stamp to the reverse – Photographie Walery.
He was an official photographer for the Folies Bergere. He is also famous for his saucy risqué nude pictures of the Folies ladies which he published under the pseudonym of Laryew as he could not risk his reputation as a family photographer.
We have many Laryew nudes photogravures on site. This photograph shows a group of girls in frilly costumes standing in an ice cream sundae cup. Its title is Ballet Bleu and it is dated march 1931
The photo measures 11.5 inches (32cm) high and 9.5 inches (24cm) wide
It is in very good condition. Excellent for framing. Email me for more pics quoting the ref number.
