American art deco Johny Bellhop cigarette Box Stand.
Designed and produced by Chase for the Phillip Morris cigarette company as an advertising piece.
He was named after Johny Roventini who starred in the successful 1930’s ‘Call for Phillip Morris’ campaign. He was made with several uses, this one holds a suitcase with a book of matches and a case to hold cigarettes. Another was made holding a glass cruet set – one pot with salt and another with pepper – I have both of these in stock.
Another similar larger version was made (which I also have in stock).
In good vintage used condition.
