Belgian art deco bakelite octagonal box. It would make a lovely jewellery box.
Originally designed as a bonbon dish. Gilt lid showing a flapper girl holding a sweet dish.
Its title is Bonbondosen and it was made in 1924. The same box can be seen in the Ebena book – Articles de fantasia et articles industries, p52.
The Ebena company burned down in the late 1920’s early 1930’s.
Stamped Ebena Belgium to the base. A very rare box.
In excellent used vintage condition.
It measures 7 inches (17.5cm) in diameter.
