Large rare French Art Deco cream ceramic crackle glaze bookends. Both with a leaping deer over sunray zig zag base.
Made by St Clement and designed by Lemanceau. Signed to the side of the base.
These were also produced as panther chasing the same leaping deer (CH2220).
They each measure a large 9.5 inches (24cm) long, 8.5 inches (21.5cm) high, 3 inches (7.5cm) deep.
I also have a set of the deer ones (CH2219).
Condition is good with the usual craquelier cracks and a few age related marks as one would expect.
These bookends are highly desirable and don’t come up for sale very often.
