Large rare French Art Deco cream ceramic crackle glaze bookends. Both with a leaping deer over sunray zig zag base.
Made by St Clement and designed by Lemanceau. Signed to the side of the base and marked “St Clement France 7572”.
These were also produced as panther chasing the same leaping deer (CH2220).
Similar panther and deer ones can be seen in the LesCraqueles book on page 285.
They each measure a large 9.5 inches (24cm) long, 8.5 inches (21.5cm) high, 3 inches (7.5cm) deep.
Very good condition with no noted marks or damage.
These bookends are highly desirable and don’t come up for sale very often.
