Large scale French art deco bedroom suite made of a rare quartered mottle figured  makore (African Cherry) and made by the famous cabinet company – Louis Majorelle of Nancy, France. Each piece is signed Majorelle in the usual inlaid signature. It consists of a large double bed and a pair of matching bedside cabinets. A large four door armoire and an unusual huge angled corner dressing table with central full height cheval mirror.

The bed measures a large 82 inches (208cm) in length and 78 inches (198cm) internal length. The headboard measures 105.5 inches (267cm) wide which includes the bedside cabinets and 40 inches high (102cm). The width inside the side bars is 59.5 inches (151cm) and outside the side bars is 62 inches (158cm). The footboard is 20 inches (51cm) high.

The lower section of the bed has a typical Majorelle stepped detailing. Signed at the side of the bedside cabinet. The bed should accommodate a 5 foot (152cm) wide by 6 foot 6 inch (198cm) long base and mattress. The Armoire has full length doors on either end and two central half doors with three lower drawers. The stops of metal and the handles are made of nickel plated bronze. The interiors a mix of shelves and hanging space. It measures 106 inches long (270cm), 71 inches (180cm) high and is 22 inches deep (56cm). The centre section is 46 inches wide (117cm) and each end section is 28 inches (71cm). Bears the signature of Majorelle. The dressing table is a unusual angled one ideal for a corner or a bay window or alcove. There is a cupboard section to either end with hidden shelves on either side of the central cheval mirror. Above this an original nickel plated light fitting. It measures 87 inches (221cm) wide at its widest point and 71 inches (180cm) high and 42 inches deep (107cm). Bears the signature.

The set is currently awaiting renovation. But when done will look stunning. A top quality set for a large bedroom by a top maker.
