Vacchetti was an art director at Lenci prior to 1934 when he founded Essevi Ceramics; the name Essevi was taken from his initials. He would run Essevi from 1934 to 1952 in Turin and the company would only produce top rated pieces for their wealthy collectors. The company centred around the celebration and exploration of female and modern female myths. Vacchetti would gain great popularity and admiration during the late 1930s and was a highly regarded artist. The Second World War and the following years would bring about many issues for Essevi, during the war the factory was bombed and production had to stop while the factory was rebuilt and following the war the availability of colours for his ceramic pieces was vastly limited. Vacchetti would retire to his country home outside of Turin in 1952.
