Huge 1920s French art deco terracotta theatrical wall mask with stylised floral detail to her hair. This is one of a set of 5 large plaques removed from a theatre in Toulon France. I have 4 plaques remaining, there are 2 matching pairs both the same. There is a wire hanging hook to the top of the head. Made of terracotta with horse hair to strengthen it and made in the 1920s. This ladies head measures a large 20.5 inches (52cm) high and 17 inches wide (43cm).
Condition is very good with some expected signs of ageing.
