Rare Car Mascot by Bazin

Rare green patinated Africana metal mascot known as Crosier Noire (Black Cruise) designed by Francois Victor Bazin (1897 – 1956).

Made to commemorate the Citroen expedition in 1924 – 1926 for the Citroen motor company.

The Citroen expeditions in Asia (Croisiere Jaune) and in Africa (Croisiere Noire) were intended to show the potential cars equipped with the Kegresse track system. The expedition conveyed journalists and scientists and dignitaries and were a huge success. 

Bazin designed many car mascots in the 1920s and they are now highly sought after.

Condition is very good.
