Rare French hand painted ceramic ink pot clown desk ornament. A signed piece by Becquerel, signed to his arm and under the base it is stamped with the Made in France Etling foundry stamp. In excellent condition with just 2 small firing cracks under the base near the air hole which is there from new and not unusual. The head comes out o reveal the ink well pot. And there is a pen hole in his head. He measures 8.25 inches (21cm) long x 4.5 inches (11.5cm) deep x 4.5 inches (11.5cm) high. A very rare inkwell – I have never seen another the same.
