Rare nude ball vase by Barol

Jean Barol (1873-1966), a French Art Deco ceramic lustre vase c.1930, signed J Barol on the side Globular form decorated with three circular panels of a nude woman, against a streaked lustre ground.

Patch of restoration on the shoulder of the vase in-between two figurative panels on the blue glazed area. There is a small chip to the glaze on the foot rom. General crazing to the glaze and wear to the base and interior. There is an indentation on the side which must have happened in the making.

Barol was trained early in his life by the Massier family in Golf-Juan in southern France. He was one of the four founders of BACS earthenware in Cannes, short for Barol, Alexandre, Carles and Sicard.

Good condition.
