Rare blue glazed art deco ceramic vase showing a lady with 2 peacocks to the front and a peacock to the back panel.
Circa 1930.
Marked under the base Primavera Longwy France.
The vase was made by the Longwy Art Pottery for the Primavera studio of the famous Parisian Department store Au Printemps. The studio was set up in 1912 by the retailer to source goods with a “new look art deco style” which now challenged the busy Art Nouveau style which by then was a bit jaded and old fashioned. Artefacts were made for the studio by a variety of manufacturers and freelance designers, of which Longwy was one along with St Clement.
It measures 12 inches (30cm) high, 9 inches (23cm) wide, 3 inches (7.5cm) deep.
Condition is very good.
