Rare Snail Jar

A rare large German art deco hand painted ceramic snail Jar and lid.

Porzellanfabrik Fraureuth signed under the base.- Fraureuth Kunstart (indistinct) and bearing the crown company stamp.

Previously sold by Sothebys in May 1986 and retains the auction label.

Painted in a satin purple with hand painted gold detailing and a black and purple snail to the lid.

8 inches (20cm) high and the diameter is 5 inches (12.5cm)  .

Condition is very good.
