An original French poster of the comedian Gaston Dominique showing him in the role of his creation – Catinou. Gaston Dominique was active as a comedian in the Toulouse and South West of France in the 1940’s and this poster appears to have been printed on the reverse of a poster originally printed for the French Resistance from the Toulouse region. Designed and signed Jean-paul Le Verrier and dated 1945. This is such a rare find, the Le Verrier family are famous for the production of art deco statues. It has come from the archives of the Le Verrier atelier and family. Part of a collection of items recently purchased by me. Mounted on canvass. I have several other posters by Jean-Paul LV.
Very good vintage condition.
33.5 inches (85cm) wide, 43 inches (110cm) high.
