Ric & Rac Bookends by Fourmaintraux

Extremely rare French hand painted faience (earthenware) art deco Ric and Rac bookends.

Individual collar name tags.

Marked Cloda Mano to the side of each bookend which was the model name of the range and was thought at the time to typify the glamour of the Art Deco era. They are signed GF, Desvres, France. The GF being the initials for Gabriel Fourmaintraux and they were made by Desvres company. This information can be found in the book – C’est du Desvres by Francois Piton. This pair can also be seen in the Le Craqueles book on page 195.

Very good condition.
