Rare Art Deco hand painted ceramic lady lamp in a Russian costume. Rare as a statue but even rarer as a table lamp.

Made by Goldscheider Wien Austria in 1924/5 model number is 5397 which is stamped under the base. See page 407 of the Goldy book by Filipp Goldscheider.

It was designed by Josef Lorenzl (1892 – 1950) but signed Laurenzl to the base of the lamp post stem.

The height of the lady is 11 inches (28cm) and the total height is to top of the shade is 20.5 inches (52cm).

The shade is an original 1920s hand painted glass shade possibly by Leune.

Condition is good with a few tiny nibbles to the edges of the shade. Possible minor restoration under thee base but still a very lovely lamp.
