Designed in 1930 by Kenneth Shoesmith.
Despite having been a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the British Society of Poster Designers, Kenneth Denton Shoesmith is little known these days.
In 1918, after abandoning a navy career, Shoesmith devoted himself to sea painting, mainly for the Royal Mail Lines ship company.
The summit of his career was doubtlessly his decorations of the ocean liner “The Queen Mary”.
Framed in a modern contemporary gold/silver frame with no glass but protected by a plastic sleeve.
19 inches (48cm) wide, 23 inches (58.5cm) high.
In excellent condition.
