Sybille May – Rare Table Lamp

Art deco cubist Egyptian themed bronze lady lamp, a signed piece by Sybille May, circa 1925.

Signed Sybille May in the bronze to the back of her skirt.

Mounted on a black marble base.

Good condition with just a few small edge nibbles to the marble and a tiny chip to the back edge of the shade.

16.5 inches (42.5cm) high, 10 inches (25cm) wide and 5.5 inches (14cm) deep.

Sybille May was an English artist who worked in France and was a member La Stele and Evolution and many of her pieces were produced by Arthur Goldscheider and by Editeur d’art Albert Buisson. She produced cubist ceramic items along with her friend Edouard Cazaux and also worked with Pierre Le Faguays. She had items on display at the Arts Decoratifs Exposition in Paris in 1925.
