Large French silvered bronze art deco dancer by Joe Descomps using one of his pseudonyms – J D Guirande.
Circa 1925.
She comes with a wooden stepped base she can be sat on for display if one likes.
Signed to the bronze base J. D. Guirande and stamped with the medal d’Or stamp.
The base measures 22.5 inches (57cm) wide, 4 inches (10cm) high, 6.75 inches (17cm) deep.
The statue herself measures a large 17.5 inches (45cm) wide, 16.5 inches (42cm) high.
Total height is 20.5 inches (52cm).
The condition is very good with the exception of the base which has some veneer loss to the ends due to age.
A rare find, I sold one over 20 years ago and I have not seen another since.
