French Bronze art deco diving kingfisher with a fish in its mouth.
The bird is shown diving amongst reeds.
One reed is signed Limousin while the back of the bird is marked Dautrive, this suggests a collaboration between artists with Limousin designing the reeds and Dautrive modelled the bird and fish.
Stamped bronze to the back of the bird.
“Bronze” also printed on the rear of the statue.
The sculpture is fully signed Dautrive on the reverse. The renowned French artist, Emile Dautrive, was active from the late 1920s through the 1930s producing iconic art deco sculptures.
