Austrian chryselephantine (bronze and ivory) dancer by Gerda Iro Gerdago (Gerda Gottstein) (1906-2004).

A cold painted bronze and ivory figure of a dancer with original vivid enamel colouring to her bat winged costume.
Mounted on a Brazilian onyx base it is signed in the bronze.
12.5 inches (32cm) wide, 6 inches (15cm) deep and 12.5 inches (32cm) high.
The condition is very good and the statue still retains her original three chain necklace.
Gerdago was a theatrical costume designer who worked for the top theatrical houses in Europe during the deco years, she also produce many Art Deco statues in amazing costumes.
