Theatrical Dancer by Marcel Bouraine

French Art Deco bronze dancer by Marcel Bouraine (1886-1948), a close friend to Max Le Verrier.

Modelled as a theatrical dancer holding aloft comedy and tragedy masks.

Signed to the bronze socle Matto – a pseudonym used but Marcel Bouraine.

Produced in the 1920s.

Bears the foundry stamp for Marcel Gullemard to the back of the bronze socle.

Mounted on a portorro marble base.

19 inches (48cm) high, 11.25 inches (28.5cm) wide, 4.5 inches (11cm) deep.

Condition is very good with some minor age related scuffs and a couple of tiny marble chips as one would expect.
